Maple Park trustees announce new Public Works director

MAPLE PARK – The Maple Park Board of Trustees announced a new Public Works director recently.

Lou Larson will start his new job Dec. 3, according to a news release.

Larson, who is currently employed with the village of Maple Park as a building inspector, has more than 25 years of experience in municipal government, and years of construction experience. He also worked for the city of DeKalb from October 1993 to June 2014.

Larson worked in the Building Department, the Community Development Department, and Public Works while employed by DeKalb. He supervised staff and projects, worked on budgeting and snow removal at the airport.

Larson holds an associate degree from Kishwaukee College and a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Northern Illinois University.
