Wreath ceremony scheduled for Dec. 15

HUNTINGTON — The Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District along with the East Pea Ridge Woman’s Club will host the second Wreaths Across Huntington West Virginia Ceremony Saturday, Dec. 15. The Ceremony takes place at noon in Spring Hill Cemetery’s Soldiers Field in Celebration of National Wreaths Across America Day.

For $15 a beautiful live wreath can be placed on a soldier’s grave where it will remain throughout the holiday season. Each soldier’s name is spoken out loud the free event open to the public.

In 2017, more than 1.5 million veteran wreaths were placed on headstones at 1,422 participating cemeteries around the country in honor of the service and sacrifices made for our freedom.
