LA airport asks traveler patience amid makeover
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Getting to, from and around Los Angeles International Airport has never been easy.
And it’s getting worse.
An ongoing, multibillion-dollar renovation at the third-busiest U.S. airport is going to start affecting passengers in ways large and small.
On Tuesday, officials at LAX began publicly warning about coming inconveniences, which over the next few years will affect both car traffic around the terminals and passenger traffic inside them.
The airport is scheduled to get newly surfaced roads, upgraded restaurants and some terminal makeovers that will infuse new light into the interiors.
The short-term pain will, airport officials hope, be worth it once the public sees the renovated airport, which hasn’t had a makeover since the 1984 Olympics were in town.
