Syracuse coach Dino Babers reshapes football staff

February 8, 2018

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse coach Dino Babers has given five assistants new responsibilities for the upcoming football season.

Mike Lynch has been elevated to offensive coordinator for the first time in his career and also will handle the running backs, while assistant head coach Kim McCloud, a defensive back in college, will mentor the cornerbacks after handling the wideouts for two seasons.

Lynch helped the Orange to two of the three highest total offense figures in team history the past two seasons — 5,476 yards last season and 5,290 yards in 2016.

Other changes include special teams coordinator Justin Lustig also coaching the wide receivers, tight ends coach Reno Ferri also handling the inside receivers, and Nick Monroe coaching the safeties.
