CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — An elderly West Virginia man has died in a house fire.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office said in a statement that the fire was reported Wednesday night at a Kanawha County residence. The statement says the victim was a 90-year-old man who appears to have died from smoke inhalation.

Officials said investigators determined the fire was incendiary in cause, but they said since it was done without malice there's no criminal act.

Authorities said no further information was immediately available.
