Arizona Cardinals Re-Sign Sanders
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ The Arizona Cardinals re-signed wide receiver Frank Sanders to a five-year contract Friday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Sanders, the Cardinals’ second-round draft choice in 1995, had 1,017 yards on 75 catches last season and led the NFL with 31 third-down receptions.
He also had a 70-yard touchdown catch Nov. 16 at the New York Giants, which was Arizona’s longest play from scrimmage in a 4-12 season.
Sanders became a restricted free agent after last season.
He had 53 catches for 883 yards and two TDs as a rookie and 813 yards and four touchdowns on 69 receptions in 1996.
His 196 career receptions are the most by anyone who has played his first three seasons with the Cardinals.
