Construction of wind farm in southeast Wyoming delayed

March 20, 2019

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — A contract dispute has delayed plans to erect a wind farm in southeast Wyoming.

The Rawlins Times reports that the Boswell Springs wind farm would erect up to 170 turbines over 21,596 acres between Albany and Carbon counties east of Medicine Bow.

However, the wind farm developer and Rocky Mountain Power are in a dispute after originally entering a 20-year contract less than two years ago.

The details of what has pushed both companies to pursue legal action are confidential.

The issue was discussed Tuesday by the Carbon County Commission, which says impact assistance funds will be ended as long a construction is delayed.
