INDIANAPOLIS _ The parents of Tyler Trent, the Purdue University superfan and cancer activist who died in January, were expected to meet with Vice President Mike Pence before attending President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. UPCOMING: 130 words.


_ INFANT DEATH-HUNTINGTON: A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in the shaking death of his 2-month-old daughter in northeastern Indiana.

_ INDIANA UNIVERSITY-BICENTENNIAL MEDAL: Indiana University has unveiled the design of a bicentennial medal that will be issued for the school’s 200th birthday. The medal design depicts IU’s seal on one side and an outline of Indiana and contours like flight patterns on the flip side.

_ NOTRE DAME-MORENO: The University of Notre Dame says actress, dancer and singer Rita Moreno will speak on the South Bend campus later this month. Moreno will be the guest of Notre Dame’s Institute for Latino Studies as part of its Transformative Latino Leadership Lecture Series.

_ UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT NOMINEE: A scholar from Purdue University in Indiana could become the next president of the University of Vermont. A memo sent to the UVM community on Monday, said that Suresh Garimella, a Purdue vice president, is the sole finalist for the job that will become vacant when current UVM President Thomas Sullivan leaves the post later this year to finish a book.
