Police notebook for Jan. 5, 2019

Information is taken from the records of the Portage Police Department and does not represent a comprehensive list of police activity. Each individual named in this report is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Between 1:03 a.m. Tuesday and 7:59 a.m. Friday, police responded to 120 calls, including the following:

Village Road: Police on Jan. 1 at 1:09 a.m. cited 19-year-old Portage residents Anthony R. Wiltgen for underage drinking and Cody T. Cannon for supplying alcohol to a minor. Wiltgen was held on a probation and parole hold for violating a no-drinking order.

Prospect Avenue: Police on Jan. 1 at 3:32 a.m. responded to a domestic dispute involving Matthew J. O’Neil, 37, of Portage, and a 17-year-old boy. O’Neil was taken into police custody on a $150 bond. A no-contact order was waived.

Superior Street: Police on Jan. 1 at 10:21 a.m. arrested Zachariah S. Rasch, 37, of Clyman, for suspected violation of a domestic abuse ruling and transported Rasch to Columbia County Jail. Police also cited Rasch for second offense of operating after suspension.

New Pinery Road and Eastridge Drive: Police on Jan. 1 at 1:03 p.m. responded to a two-car accident and cited Jason A. Doro, 45, of Portage, for failure to obey a traffic signal. Emergency responders transported a woman to a hospital for treatment.

MacFarlane Road and West Oneida Street: Police on Jan. 1 at 6:56 p.m. responded to a vehicle accident and stopped a suspect vehicle in a possible hit-and-run that had damaged a street sign. Police cited Nicole Kukla, 32, of Portage, for a hit-and-run and driving too fast for conditions.

Franklin Street: Police on Jan. 2 at 6:34 p.m. responded to a possible physical domestic dispute at an upstairs apartment. A man answered the door and did not allow officers to enter. Officers made forced entry and arrested Carissa Longo, 29, of Portage for a suspected domestic dispute and bail jumping. Jack D. Krausse, 32, of Endeavor, was cited for disorderly conduct.

Collins Street: Police on Jan. 3 at 3:31 a.m. arrested Portage residents Harley P. Schrank, 23, on suspicion of theft and Sala M. Marchand, 19, on suspicion of theft valuing less than $2,500 and on violation of probation.

New Pinery Road: Police on Jan. 3 at 7:52 a.m. cited Kelly A. Pellett, 29, of Portage, for a second offense of operation after suspension. An officer stopped the vehicle after scanning the license plate for details.

New Pinery Road: Police on Jan. 3 at 8:26 a.m. arrested Alberto Victor Gonsalez Cerezo, 20, of Wisconsin Dells, for an active Sauk County warrant for suspected possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. No local charges were made after police stopped a vehicle and issued a warning for equipment violation.

DeWitt Street: Police on Jan. 3 at 11:28 a.m. cited Miguel A. Gonzalez, 21, of Kendall, and Luis E. Gonzalez, 22, of Portage, for obstructing an officer after police mistook one of the men for Raul M. Quirogo, whom police are seeking in connection with suspected bail jumping.

New Pinery Road: Police on Jan. 1 at 1:26 p.m. stopped a vehicle to warn the driver for not wearing a seat belt and cited Aaron J. Lavake, 37, of Westfield, for a 12th offense of operating after suspension.

New Pinery Road: Police on Jan. 3 at 11:11 p.m. located a man carrying items believed to be stolen from Walmart and arrested Kevin E. Finzel II, 29, of Packwaukee, on suspicion of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.

Highway X at New Pinery Road: Police on Jan. 4 at 2:32 a.m. cited Annie R. Petrovic, 36, of Packwaukee, for a sixth offense of operating after suspension and a child safety restraint violation.
