Doris Lorena Hinrichs was born on March 22, 1931, to John and Lorena (Borgschatz) Hinrichs in Zumbrota. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. Doris graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1949 and worked for the Zumbrota Hospital.
She married Richard Miller on Sept. 20, 1953, at Christ Lutheran Church. They farmed in Oak Center from 1953 to 1964, until they moved to their farm in Zumbrota. The family all helped with the dairy and crop farming. Doris did all the bookkeeping for the farm. She also worked for the Zumbrota Nursing Home.
Doris was a loving, caring wife for more than 60 years. After Richard passed in 2013, she continued to care for their home. Until the last two years, where she resided at Susie’s Place in Hayfield, she really enjoyed her time and all the wonderful care she received there. Doris was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church; she was very strong in her faith.
Doris enjoyed dancing, baking, canning, card clubs, listening to old time music, supporting her kids in 4-H activities and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
