ELLSWORTH, Maine (AP) — It was another busy day for a Maine utility that faced new outages affecting thousands of customers just as it was wrapping up restoration from last week's ice storm.

Bangor Hydro was reporting just four outages Wednesday morning, down from a peak of about 40,000 last week. But the number rose again Wednesday afternoon to nearly 9,400 homes and businesses in Hancock County. Those problems have been fixed however, and fewer than two dozen customers were still without power later in the day.

Meanwhile, Maine Gov. Paul LePage on Wednesday ended the state of emergency he declared earlier this month due to the ice storm.
