Jets position themselves to draft a QB...Severino to start Yankees opener...NCAA Round 2 underway
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Jets have shaken up the NFL draft by moving up three spots to No. 3 overall in a swap with the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets sent the Colts their first-rounder — No. 6 overall — along with two second-rounders this year and a second-rounder next year to complete the massive deal. The moves are a strong sign that the Jets intend to draft one of the top quarterbacks available.
LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Luis Severino will start the New York Yankees’ regular-season opener March 29th at Toronto. Manager Aaron Boone announced the news today. Severino was third in the AL Cy Young Award voting after going 14-6 with a 2.98 ERA in 31 starts last season. Severino will be followed in the rotation by Masahiro Tanaka, CC Sabathia, Sonny Grey and Jordan Montgomery.
UNDATED (AP) — The second round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is underway. No. 1 seed Villanova is battling ninth seed Alabama. The Wildcats ended the half up 32-27, then opened the second half with an 18-1 run. In other games on today’s schedule, second-seeded Duke faces Rhode Island, Kentucky plays Buffalo, No. 1 seed Kansas faces Seton Hall and Tennessee takes on Loyola-Chicago. Ohio State and Gonzaga square off in Boise, Florida and Texas Tech meet in an AP Top 25 matchup, and Michigan closes out the day against Houston.

The ACC has five teams left in the field after losing four teams in the first round, while the Big Ten, Big East and Big 12 each have four teams chasing a spot in the Sweet 16.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Police say someone stole thousands of dollars in electronics and other items from the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team locker room and office while they were away for the ACC tournament. UNC-Chapel Hill campus police said on Twitter that the break-in happened at the Dean Smith Center on March 9, and they released images of a man they believe may have been involved.
