COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Michael Penix tied a school record with four touchdowns as Division I-AA Tennessee Tech routed NAIA Campbellsville 49-0 Thursday night in the teams’ season opener.

Tennessee Tech scored three of its first four touchdowns off turnovers and its longest touchdown drive was less than two minutes.

Campbellsville turned the ball over on its own 8, setting up the Golden Eagles’ first touchdown on a 6-yard pass from Greg Triplett to Gerald Bentley with 10:03 left in the first quarter.

Penix scored on runs of 8, 1, 3 and 2 yards, including three within five minutes in the second quarter. He now shares a record held by several Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles led 28-0 at halftime, and backup quarterback Jamie Sander added two touchdown passes in the second half. Tennessee Tech held Campbellsville to 128 yards on offense, including the three turnovers.
