Mexican Girl Who Came To Wisconsin For High School Stabbed to Death
LODI, Wis. (AP) _ A 15-year-old Mexican girl who came to this rural community last month to attend high school was found dead after being stabbed 29 times and beaten, authorities said.
``It’s extremely unusual for us to have a homicide as vicious as this,″ Sheriff Rick Raemisch said Wednesday. ``I have a fear there is someone in this community who can no longer contain this kind of rage.″
An autopsy showed Deysi Mendez was beaten on the head and chest and stabbed repeatedly during a struggle at the home where she was staying with family friends, Raemisch said. Evidence suggested she was sexually assaulted in Tuesday’s attack.
The girl had gotten a ride home from a friend Tuesday morning after telling administrators at Lodi High School she felt ill. Within a few hours she was found dead.
There were no immediate suspects, authorities said.
Lodi has 2,400 residents and is about 15 miles north of Madison.
