Nashoba Tech Duo in Auto Skills Test
WESTFORD -- Two seniors in the Automotive Technology program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School competed in the recent Massachusetts State Automobile Dealers Association competition.
Only 10 teams qualified to compete, and juniors Domenic Cura of Townsend and Robert Pawl of Chelmsford earned a spot in the exclusive competition based on their scores on a test of “basic automotive knowledge.” They are the first 11th-graders to represent Nashoba Tech in the competition.
In the MSADA event, held at Massachusetts Bay Community College, the two worked as a team at 10 different stations that posed diagnostic challenges that tested the students’ overall auto-technology knowledge.
The top team in the competition earned a spot in the National Automotive Technology Competition held at New York’s International Auto Show in April, and though Domenic and Robert did not finish first, they agreed that the experience will help them both in their careers.
