Thunderstorms expected to hit East Idaho

The National Weather Service has issued multiple special weather alerts warning the public about the thunderstorms that are expected to hit East Idaho on Friday night.

Thunderstorms are expected to hit numerous East Idaho communities on Friday night.

The National Weather Service has issued special weather alerts warning the public as well as firefighters battling area wildfires to be prepared for the storms. Lightning and winds in excess of 40 mph are expected.

The areas that are forecast to be hit by the thunderstorms include Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Fort Hall, Blackfoot, Swan Valley, Felt, Ririe Reservoir, Lorenzo, Chesterfield Reservoir, Goshen, American Falls Reservoir, Blackfoot Reservoir, Palisades Reservoir, Chubbuck, Ammon, Victor, Iona, Ucon, Menan, Terreton, Mud Lake, Idaho National Laboratory, Monteview, Kettle Butte, Howe and East Butte.
