CASA seeks local volunteers
CASA volunteers are court appointed special advocates who speak up for children in the child protection court system.
Volunteers advocate for the best interest of these children as their case moves through court.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, be able to pass a criminal background check, and be willing to commit to the program for the length of a case. A 30-hour pre-service training class gives volunteers a good foundation of information before taking their first case.
The next session of classes begins Wednesday, Sept. 5 and will run every Wednesday through October 3. Classes are from 6 to 8 p.m. at the CASA offices, 836 E. Center St. in Pocatello. A light dinner is provided.
