Allen, Gilliam Sidelined For Weekend Games
MILWAUKEE (AP) _ First-round draft pick Ray Allen sustained bruised ribs during a practice Thursday morning and will miss the Milwaukee Bucks’ two weekend exhibition games.
Allen, a guard from the University of Connecticut who was the fifth overall pick in the June NBA draft, was hurt while setting a pick during a workout. X-rays were negative and his status following the weekend games will be day-to-day, the team said.
Also, forward Armon Gilliam, who sat out Tuesday’s victory over the Chicago Bulls with a toe injury, experienced swelling in the toe following Thursday morning’s practice. He’ll also miss the Bucks’ game Friday night against San Antonio at Green Bay and Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
