Timberwolves lead All-MSAC volleyball

HUNTINGTON — Spring Valley High School, the Mountain State Athletic Conference first-place team that went on to capture the Class AAA state title, had four players named to the All-MSAC team.

Spring Valley senior Brooke Smith, senior Alexa Ball, junior Katie Beth Caudill and junior Alex Darby and were on the all-conference first team.

State runner-up Cabell Midland senior Gracie Brumfield was another All-MSAC first-team selection and senior Ryleigh Bledsoe of the Knights was on the second team. Caroline Kinder and Gabbi Carter, both seniors for Cabell Midland, received special honorable mention.

Huntington High sophomore Macie Motley made the all-conference second team, freshman Elli Berry was on the special honorable mention list and senior Kendall Saunders was a recipient of honorable mention honors.

Emily Poe, a Hurricane sophomore, was part of the second team. Hurricane juniors Maggie Niebur and Jasmine Bowles received honorable mention.

Cadara Shreve from Spring Valley was the MSAC Coach of the Year. Woodrow Wilson senior Bryce Knapp was chosen as the MSAC Player of the Year.
