Cheyenne man gets 8-15 years in prison for stabbing death
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A 21-year-old Cheyenne man charged with a series of crimes that occurred over an eight-month period has been sentenced to eight to 15 years for stabbing a man to death and concurrent, shorter sentences for having sex with a 13-year-old girl and kicking a police officer.
Vincent Anthony Ramirez pleaded guilty manslaughter, sexual battery and interference with a police officer in June as part of a plea agreement that reduced several charges. He was sentenced Thursday.
Ramirez had been charged with second-degree murder for the July 2017 stabbing death of 18-year-old Ian Dangler. Prosecutors dismissed an attempted second-degree murder charge for stabbing a 20-year-old man during the same fight.
KGAB-AM reports District Judge Thomas Campbell also ordered Ramirez to pay more than $14,000 in restitution.
