Duke 31, Georgia Tech 21
ATLANTA (AP) _ Randy Jones scored two touchdowns, one a 93-yard kickoff return, and Anthony Dilweg accounted for two scores as Duke beat Georgia Tech 31-21 in an Atlantic Coast Conference football game Saturday.
Doug Peterson’s 37-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter broke a 21-21 tie as the Blue Devils snapped a two-game losing streak, going to 6-2 for the year and 2-2 in the ACC.
It was the 13th ACC loss in a row for Tech, which fell to 2-6 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
Peterson’s go-ahead field goal came with 9:12 left in the game at the end of a 50-yard drive, after Tech had overcome a 21-7 deficit to tie the game just over a minute into the final quarter.
Jones added his second touchdown on a 1-yard run with 1:47 remaining, capping a 95-yard drive.
Dilweg scored on a 1-yard run 1:43 before halftime to give the Blue Devils a 14-7 lead at intermission.
Dilweg then stretched the lead to 21-7 in the third when he completed a 16- yard touchdown pass to Clarkston Hines.
T.J. Edwards scored two of Tech’s touchdowns on runs of 2 yards and 1 yard and Scotty Barron got the other on a 37-yard flanker reverse in the third quarter.
