Trapped ducklings rescued; reunited with mother

May 1, 2019

BURLINGTON - Animal control officers from Burlington and Farmington were able to rescue a dozen ducklings who had fallen into a storm drain Tuesday.

A school bus driver alerted authorities after seeing a mother duck hopping over a storm drain on Monce Road, according to WTNH.

Her ducklings tried to complete the same maneuver, but all fell into the drain landing four feet below, WTNH said.

A Burlington Animal Control Officer with the help of a Farmington Animal Control were able to save the day by plucking the little ducks out of the drain and reuniting them with their mother, according to the Burlington Animal Control Facebook page.
