CHARLOTTE RAE, HOUSEMOTHER ON “THE FACTS OF LIFE” DIES AT AGE 92

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Charlotte Rae once said she would often hear from people who were big fans of “The Facts of Life.” And it wasn’t just young girls. The actress told an interview in 2006 she’d often hear from boys and young men, many of who were latchkey kids, who would follow the show, too. Rae has died. She was 92. Aside from her work on the NBC sitcom, Rae was in “Diff’rent Strokes,” ″Car 54 Where Are You” and movies like the 2008 comedy “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” and the 2012 thriller “Love Sick Love.”

CHARLOTTE RAE - STAYED IN TOUCH WITH “FACTS” GANG

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Charlotte Rae once said she and her TV “family” stayed in touch long after the cameras stopped rolling on “The Facts of Life.” The veteran actress told a 2006 interview she often spoke with cast mates Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Lisa Whelchel, Nancy McKeon and Molly Ringwald — but there was a twist. She said she got to interact with them in later years “woman to woman,” rather than as a woman to young girls. Fields was among the “Facts” cast paying tribute to Rae after she died yesterday. She said she had no words at the time — “just love and tears ... and yeah, smiles.” Charlotte Rae was 92.

Over the years, Lovato has been open about discussing her struggles with drug abuse, eating disorders, cutting and other issues that teens often face.

EYE ON CBS AFTER SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The head of the CBS Entertainment division could have ducked a session with reporters yesterday — after the bombshell announcement that its chairman is under investigation for sexual harassment. But Kelly Kahl faced the music, and the questions. He says he did it to show support for those who work proudly at CBS to create quality shows. As for the Les Moonves allegations, Kahl says CBS isn’t perfect — and there’s room for improvement. Moonves is being investigated after six women said he was involved with sexual harassment or misconduct. Moonves has acknowledged making advances that may have made women uncomfortable — but says he didn’t hinder anyone’s career.

“60 MINUTES” PRODUCER DELAYS RETURN

NEW YORK (AP) — The show runner for “60 Minutes” was due back on the job today. But executive producer Jeff Fager isn’t coming back just yet. He is under investigation for sexual misconduct, even as CBS investigates claims against CBS chief Les Moonves. Fager has denied any wrongdoing. And it’s unclear how long it will take law firms hired from outside CBS to pass judgment on the case.

BOX OFFICE

NEW YORK (AP) — This weekend’s box office report brings a rare chunk of bad news for Disney. It had a new movie out over the weekend, which usually means a number-one finish. Not this time. The Winnie-the-Pooh-themed movie “Christopher Robin” was runner-up to Tom Cruise’s “Mission Impossible — Fallout.” Fallout took in $35 million over the weekend to maintain its hold on the top spot. “Christopher Robin” took in $25 million. Overall, the box office numbers have been kind to the Mouse House. It has already released three films this year that have reached the $1 billion mark in ticket sales. They are “Black Panther,” ″Avengers: Infinity War” and “Incredibles 2.”

CHRISSY TEIGEN TWEETS FROM INDONESIAN QUAKE

UNDATED (AP) — Some fans wait breathlessly for the latest tweet from the celebrities they follow. But those who follow Chrissy Teigen ((TEE’-gen)) read things yesterday that left them breathless. The model, her husband John Legend and their two kids were on the island of Bali as Indonesia was hit by a deadly earthquake. Teigen tweeted to her 10.6 million followers amid the shaking: “Bail. Trembling. So long.” In another post, she said it felt like they were “on stilts.” She was still shaken when the main quake stopped and aftershocks began. She said she couldn’t tell if she was quivering — or whether the follow-ups to the original quake wouldn’t stop. Teigen and her family are OK, though there are more than 90 dead — with the death toll expected to rise.

PINK HOSPITALIZED IN AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY (AP) — Pink’s promoter says the pop superstar has been admitted to a Sydney hospital with a virus, forcing her to cancel a second Sydney show. The singer’s “Beautiful Trauma” world tour’s first show in Sydney was to be last Friday, but she canceled that show on doctor’s orders. She battled through a Saturday night show. Promoter Live Nation tweeted on Monday that Pink was admitted to a hospital in Sydney on Sunday suffering from dehydration and was discharged. But she was readmitted and diagnosed with a gastric virus hours before her Monday concert. Live Nation says Pink will remain in the hospital overnight. Both the Friday and Monday night shows are expected to be rescheduled. Pink’s Australian tour is scheduled from July 4 to Aug. 26.

BEYONCE HAD EMERGENCY C-SECTION

NEW YORK (AP) — Beyonce reveals she had an emergency cesarean section when she delivered her twins. The singer, in a series of essays in September’s Vogue magazine, says she was 218 pounds and was swollen from toxemia. The 36-year-old says the twins spent many weeks in intensive care and her husband, Jay-Z, was “a strong support system.” She says she put pressure on herself to lose weight in the three months after the birth of her first child. But after the twins, she approached things differently. Beyonce says she has a “little mommy pouch” and she’s in no rush to get rid of it. She says it’s important for her to help open doors for younger artists. Her photo is the first Vogue cover to be shot by an African-American photographer.

SKYLAR ASTIN JOINS FINAL SEASON OF ‘CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND’

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Skylar Astin is joining the fourth and final season of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” this fall playing a character familiar to viewers of the CW show. Astin takes over the role of Greg, originally played by Santino Fontana in the show’s first season. Fontana decided not to return in order to pursue other opportunities. Astin attended New York University with show star and executive producer Rachel Bloom. She plays Rebecca Bunch and was involved in a love triangle with Greg and her childhood sweetheart Josh Chan. Bloom says her character won’t ignore the fact that Greg is played by a different actor. Astin is known for the “Pitch Perfect” movies. Bloom says “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” was never planned to last beyond four seasons, and she’s known how it will end since the show was conceived.
