Police: Driver who opened fire on bridge was murder suspect
POULSBO, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a driver who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he opened fire at two other vehicles on a bridge in northwest Washington state was wanted in a homicide investigation.
The Renton Police Department said the shooting happened around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday after officers found the body of a 38-year-old Bellevue woman in a Renton hotel room.
Police say officers were called after an employee checked the woman’s room and found her dead. Police say an investigation determined that the suspect was 20-year-old Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad.
Police say authorities found him dead at the Hood Canal Bridge.
The Washington State Patrol says he had fired at two other vehicles, barely missing two little girls and their father in one vehicle, before fatally shooting himself.
Police are investigating.
