Possible lightning strike sparks residential fire in Pentwater Twp.

Staff WriterMay 27, 2019

PENTWATER TWP. — The Pentwater Fire Department responded to a report of a residential home struck by lightning at 5778 W. Longbridge Road in Pentwater Township. The call came in at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, according to a statement from the Pentwater Fire Department.

The caller, who was the owner of the residence, believed lightning struck an old antenna on the roof. There was some light smoke from the strike.

The Hart Area Fire Department was called to assist because the residence was across the lake from the Village of Pentwater, and a stretch of Longbridge Road is closed due to high water levels, which impeded their ability to respond quickly.
