Two hurt after minivan plows into north Raleigh restaurant

Rosalia Fodera, WRAL reporterMay 18, 2019

Two people were injured Friday evening when a minivan crashed through the front of a north Raleigh restaurant.

Police said a 17-year-old driver put the van into the wrong gear and drove through the windows at Las Marias Mexican Restaurant, on Ronald Drive, at about 6 p.m.

Courtney Alexander-Weston said she was at a table next to where the van came through and saw another woman get hit.

“She was flown out of her chair. Her husband was trying to help her up. There was glass everywhere, plants fell, everything,” Alexander-Weston said.

The unidentified woman and another person went to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
