British Dancer Dies After Fall
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) _ A British ballet dancer died Friday of head injuries sustained when he fell into the orchestra pit during rehearsal.
Alexander Money-Kyrle, 35, had danced for 10 years with the Dutch National Ballet. He fell Wednesday as he ran to help the company’s artistic director, who also had slipped and fallen, said National Ballet spokeswoman Marit Wisselink.
``The dancers are devastated. They really are shocked at the terrible accident,″ Wisselink said.
Money-Kyrle was to have danced a number of minor roles in the upcoming performance, an adaptation of ``Romeo and Juliet.″
