Police cited an individual on possession of marijuana at the Gering Skate Park.

Oct. 11

Police investigated a theft at the Gering Jr. High.

Police investigated juveniles possessing alcohol and tobacco at the Gering Jr. High.

Oct. 18

A 15-year-old male was cited on a charge of tobacco use by a minor in Gering High School.

Oct. 22

Police investigated a report of burglary, assault and criminal mischief in the 1300 block of S Street.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department

Oct. 4

Police investigated an collision at Runza.

Oct. 5

9:15 p.m. — On Tenth Street, 650 miles east of South Mitchell Road and .2 miles south of Mitchell, Eduardo Castro, 28, of Mitchell, was involved in a collision, striking a deer. Castro’s vehicle sustained $2,500 in damages.

Zane Orsborn, 20, was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Oct. 6

4:50 a.m. — 50 feet south of East Overland, an unknown driver struck a vehicle owned by Helen Flood, of Gering. Flood’s vehicle sustained $1,001.

Oct. 7

Police cited 15 minors on minor in possession charges after responding to a party in the 1400 block of Yorick Avenue in Henry.

Sean Bunch, 31, was cited on a charge of possession of an open container. Oct. 8

Marco Escobedo-Vasquez, 29, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police investigated a theft of 9 rolls of copper wire from Basin Electric, of Morrill.

Nathan Andrew was arrested on a charge of theft by unlawful taking at 30029 County Road 11.

Deputies seized drug paraphernalia found at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.

Oct. 10

Dustina Gonzales was arrested on charges of no operator’s license, no proof of insurance and a Scotts Bluff County warrant on Highway 92 near Wright’s Gap Road.

Oct. 11

6:29 p.m. — At the intersection of South Beltline Highway and 21st Avenue, Laura E. VonKampen, 18, of Atkins, Iowa, and Michael Katen, 32, of Chadron, were in a collision. VonKampen’s vehicle sustained $5,000 in damages. Katen’s vehicle sustained $500 in damages.

Oct. 13

Police investigated a burglary in the 140000 block of Paradise Acres.

Oct. 15

Police investigated a report of a theft of a shotgun, reported stolen within the last year from a Minatare residence.

Police investigated a burglary at a residence in the 120000 area of Country Road 34, Minatare.

Oct. 17

Steven Winkler was arrested on a Colorado warrant.

Scottsbluff Police Department

Oct. 20

Police investigated a child abuse and neglect intake. No arrests or citations were made.

Frank Canseco, 39, of Scottsbluff, was cited on a charge of possession of an open container.

Araceli Urbina, 17, of Scottsbluff, was cited on a charge of racing on a public roadway.

Oct. 21

Police investigated an assault. A 12-year-old juvenile male was cited on a charge of third-degree assault.

At Dollar General, 800 block of East Overland, Cassandra Kershaw, 34, was cited on a charge of theft by shoplifting.

A 17-year-old juvenile was cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance after being involved in an injury accident on Terry Boulevard.

Police investigated a domestic assault in the 1900 block of Fourth Avenue.
