Man Charged With Killing Four People
PHOENIX (AP) _ A 26-year-old man who allegedly shot four people to death at random was being held without bond Tuesday on first-degree murder charges.
Peter Rogovich was arrested west of Phoenix on Sunday after authorities stopped the stolen van he was driving, police spokesman Leo Speliopoulos said.
Police said Rogovich walked into a convenience store that morning, shot the clerk dead, then left without taking anything. In the afternoon, police said, he went to a mobile home park and killed three women at random.
Rogovich left Phoenix in a van stolen at gunpoint, stopping just out of town to rob a convenience store clerk of beer and money, Speliopoulos said.
Michael Wilenchik, who employed Rogovich at an auto body shop, said Rogovich was being treated for alcoholism but was a dependable worker.
