Big Praise for FSU’s Brown
Fitchburg State freshman quarterback Brandon Brown was recently named both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Player and Rookie of the Week.
The first-year signal caller picks up his first two weekly honors on the year after totaling 158 yards of offense. Brown threw for 95 yards on 15-of-19 passes and two TDs through the air, including his first collegiate touchdown pass, as well as running for 65 yards on 11 carries and a pair of touchdowns on the ground in a 36-20 victory over Mass. Maritime on Saturday.
In Addition, Brandon also threw for one two-point conversion and ran in a second conversion attempt in the win.
Pair of Falcons nab running honors
Fitchburg State sophomore Jacob Movsessian was named MASCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday.
The second-year Falcon collects his first weekly honor of the season afternoon after taking top honors at the 2018 Keene State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning with a time of 26:35.9 over the 8K course as Fitchburg State finished second overall at the meet with a total of 48 points.
On the women’s side, Fitchburg State senior Amy Kelly was selected as MASCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The third-year Falcon received her second weekly honor of the 2018 campaign afternoon after placing second overall at the 2018 Keene State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning, turning in a time of 19:23.5 over the 5K course as FSU finished fourth overall at the meet with 112 points.
