University of Cincinnati goes on lockdown after shots fired during fight

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Students at the University of Cincinnati were told to shelter in place late Thursday night after gunfire during a fight on the campus.

The alert from the school was sent just after 11:30 p.m., saying shots were fired near the school’s campus recreation center. The shelter in place was lifted just before 12:30 a.m. today.

UPDATE: Shots were fired tonight on the UC campus during a fight near the Campus Rec Center.All those involved are believed to be gone from the scene.No reported injuries.— U of Cincinnati (@uofcincy) November 30, 2018

Captain David Fink of the Cincinnati Police Department tells WCPO Channel 9 that shells were found on the ground near the rec center.

There were no reports of injuries, but police are still searching for a suspect, Local 12 reports.
