SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ United Insurance Holdings Corp. (UIHC) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $14.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Saint Petersburg, Florida-based company said it had profit of 34 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 36 cents per share.

The property and casualty insurance company posted revenue of $183.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $182.2 million.

United Insurance shares have increased 20 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $20.78, an increase of 31 percent in the last 12 months.
