State Supreme Court candidate to speak Jan. 17

JEFFERSON -- The public is invited to hear Lisa S. Neubauer, candidate for Wisconsin State Supreme Court, present her case for election Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Public Library, 321 Main St., Jefferson.

The event is sponsored by Indivisible Jefferson County, a grassroots citizen organization that communicates with elected officials.

Neubauer, the chief judge of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, is the highest ranking jurist in Wisconsin who is not on the Supreme Court, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Racine judge is the first candidate to enter the 2019 race to replace retiring Justice Shirley Abrahamson on the state Supreme Court. Neubauer’s leadership experience includes the Supreme Court Finance Committee, the Wisconsin Bar Association’s Bench and Bar Committee, the Judicial Conduct Advisory Committee, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court Committee on Community Outreach. Her community service work includes as a board member of the Racine Area United Way, ABCD (After Breast Cancer Diagnosis), the Equal Justice Coalition and Legal Action of Wisconsin.
