PARIS (AP) _ A driver in the Wine Car Rally south of Dijon lost control of his car Saturday, plowing into the crowd and hitting eight bystanders.

Four of those hit were hospitalized in the nearby town of Macon in the Saone-et-Loire region, rescue workers said. The most seriously injured suffered a broken leg.

Two of those hit were treated at the scene for minor injuries and two others left before medical personnel arrived.
