2 drivers charged with DUI for wrong way crashes

NORTH SCITUATE, R.I. (AP) — Two people have been charged with driving under the influence in connection to separate Rhode Island crashes while driving the wrong way on the highway.

The first wrong-way crash was reported Saturday at 7:20 p.m. in East Greenwich, when 28-year-old Corey Stott Miller of Pawtucket headed north in a southbound lane and crashed into a car.

Miller was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver and passenger were treated with injuries and released. The second crash was after 2 a.m. Sunday when 25-year-old Cameron Wambolt of West Warwick sideswiped a car while heading the wrong way on Interstate 95. He was not injured in the crash. Two people in the car hit by Wambolt were treated at Rhode Island hospital and released.

Miller and Wambolt could not be reached for comment.
