Utah St. 98, Chaminade 52

LOGAN, Utah (AP) _ Utah State’s Silas Mills scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half as the Aggies beat the Chaminade Silverswords 98-52 Monday night.

Eric Franson and Antwan Smith scored 23 points each for the Aggies (4-5). Franson had 15 rebounds and Smith and Mills each had 10.

Damian Cephas led Chaminade (0-6), an NCAA Division II school, with 20 points and four rebounds. Germaine Sutton had 11 points.

With 10:34 remaining in the first half, Franson and Smith sparked a 15-4 run that gave Utah State a 39-14 lead. Smith had seven points and Franson had four in the run.

The Silverswords did not come within 20 points the rest of the game.

Utah State led 44-22 at the half.

Mills scored 18 of his points in the last 10 minutes.

The Aggies’ biggest lead was the final score.
