RYEGATE, Mont. — A year ago, the Golden Valley Hutterite Colony in Ryegate launched a steel fabrication operation after leaders there realized they needed to do something different. LABOR LAWSUIT — A federal court jury has awarded a Montana man more than $2.1 million in a wrongful termination lawsuit against BNSF Railway following an on-the-job injury. Zachary Wooten, of Columbia Falls, sued BNSF alleging the company violated the Federal Rail Safety Act after he was injured in the Whitefish rail yard in July 2015.

RAFTING FATAL LAWSUIT — A wrongful death lawsuit filed against a Montana whitewater rafting company has been settled out of court. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that the suit was settled mid-trial on Wednesday for an undisclosed amount.


HELENA, Mont. — A lawsuit accuses the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Montana of illegally deleting comments and banning people from its Facebook page. Lewis and Clark County residents Chase Berg and Deanna Anderson allege in the suit that the actions of the sheriff’s office have violated their First Amendment and 14th Amendment rights.
