DENVER (AP) _ The Los Angeles Dodgers placed J.D. Drew on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left wrist Monday and were awaiting a doctor's report to determine whether the outfielder would be lost for the season.

Drew, batting .286 with 15 homers, was hit by a pitch from Arizona's Brad Halsey on Sunday. After the game, one Dodger said Drew told teammates he'd be out six to eight weeks. On Monday, manager Jim Tracy said no prognosis had been confirmed.

``We'll see how the fracture is aligned,'' Tracy said. ``It's possible it might heal itself without much trouble, or it could require something more.''

The manager said if Drew needs surgery, it would likely end his season.

To fill Drew's roster spot, the Dodgers called up outfielder Chin-Feng Chen from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Drew's injury was yet another blow to the injury-plagued Dodgers, already missing Milton Bradley and Ricky Ledee. They entered Monday's game in Colorado at 38-43, six games behind first-place San Diego in the NL West. Drew was the 14th Dodgers player to be put on the 15-day DL this season.
