TRUMP RESORT-ILLEGAL WORKERS

NEW YORK _ Two women who cleaned rooms set aside for President Donald Trump at one of his golf resorts in New Jersey say they used false papers to get hired, their supervisors knew it and that many employees there also lack legal documents. Anibal Romero, a lawyer representing Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz, said on Thursday that the two used false Social Security and permanent residency documents to get jobs at Trump’s golf resort Bedminster, New Jersey. He also said that a supervisor hurled racial epithets at the women and threatened them with deportation to get more work out of them. By Bernard Condon. SENT: 550 words, photos.

TRUMP-WHITE HOUSE STAFF

WASHINGTON _ White House political director Bill Stepien and Justin Clark, the director of the office of public liaison, are leaving the administration to work on President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign. Both are veterans of Trump’s 2016 operation. The White House staff moves, announced Friday, come as Trump’s political focus is shifting toward 2020 and in anticipation of a more partisan environment in Washington once Democrats take control of the House in January. AROUND THE STATE:

_ BENEFITS FRAUD CHARGES _ A fifth person has pleaded guilty to theft as part of an investigation into more than $2 million in government benefits that were going to New Jersey families that made too much to receive them.

_ ASIAN LONGHORNED TICK _ In the year since the Asian longhorned tick was officially spotted in New Jersey, it’s expanded to eight more states, including Virginia.

_ TAX PREPARER-FRAUD _ A northwestern New Jersey tax preparer who admitted creating fictitious debts for his clients and fraudulently collected payments from them has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison.

_ SHELLFISH MONITORING _ A regulatory board is allowing shellfish harvesting in a key management area off of New England, though more monitoring of the fishery will now apply.
