Company buys Vermont-based Rock of Ages, NH-based Swenson,
BARRE, Vt. (AP) — A Canadian company has completed the purchase of Vermont-based Rock of Ages and its New Hampshire parent company, Swenson Granite Company.
Terms of the deal with Canadian stone giant Polycor were not disclosed.
Times Argus (http://bit.ly/2cDhX5r ) reported that the deal was announced to Rock of Ages workers Friday during the company’s annual picnic at the Vermont Granite Museum. That coincided with a public announcement from Quebec-based Polycor.
The deal doubles the Polycor workforce from 400 to 800. Polycor CEO Patrick Perus says he’s eager to assume leadership of a company that boasts 12 manufacturing plants, 30 quarries, seven retail stores, and six offices in North America.
