Family is displaced after fire
OAK GROVE -- A family was displaced following a fire that swept through their town of Oak Grove home late Sunday afternoon.
Juneau firefighters were called at 4:59 p.m. for a report of a house fire at W6477 County Highway W.
Initial reports from the Dodge County Dispatch Center confirmed that there were flames and heavy smoke coming from the residence.
Before Juneau fire units rolled to the scene, additional units were called to help from Beaver Dam, Burnett, Hustisford, Fox Lake, Reeseville, Mayville, Horicon, Kekoskee, Woodland and Waupun. Juneau, Horicon and Mayville EMS units assisted the firefighters at the scene.
Juneau police and Dodge County sheriff’s deputies assisted with traffic. Juneau firefighters arrived at the home at 5:08 p.m. and crews knocked down the fire. All incoming units were used to help with extinguishing the fire, overhaul and water shuttle operations.
The home sustained damage to its roof and ceilings. There is no cost estimate of damages, but the homeowners were displaced and have shelter arranged.
County Highway W was closed for 90 minutes and the whole scene was cleared by 6:45 p.m.
There were no injuries to the homeowners or firefighters.
