May 7, 2019

AMBOY – A benefit for Justin Walls, 25, of Amboy, who has a rare form of progeria, will be held from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Green River Saddle Club, 1580 Morman Road.

There will be a bags tournament, free beer while the keg lasts, a cash bar, live and silent auctions, a bake sale and a supper at 5 p.m.

Admission is $20 for ages 13 and older, which includes the meal.

Registration for the bags tournament starts at 2 p.m., with the games at 3. The cost is $40 for a two-person team.

Auction items are being accepted; in so far are a 50-inch flat screen TV and a fire pit ring for the live auction, with themed-baskets for the silent auction.

Walls’ form of progeria is called Wiedemann Rautenstrauch Syndrome; it’s an extremely rare genetic disorder characterized by an aged appearance and stunted growth. Proceeds will be used to help pay for treatments.
