Predators Suspend Keczmer

December 11, 1999

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ The Nashville Predators suspended defenseman Dan Keczmer on Friday for refusing to report to Milwaukee of the International Hockey League.

Nashville waived Keczmer on Thursday, and the 31-year-old defenseman cleared waivers. He talked with general manager David Poile and declined to go to Milwaukee. Team officials said they will talk with Keczmer again next week.

Keczmer has been in the NHL since the 1990-91 season, playing for Minnesota, Hartford, Calgary, Dallas and Nashville.

This season, Keczmer played in 24 games, and had a minus-2 rating and five assists, the best of any regular Nashville defenseman.
