DeAndrea Dion “Dea” Rice, 30, of Kankakee, passed away July 21, 2018.
Services for Dea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at God’s Lighthouse Center of Deliverance in Kankakee. The Rev. Betty Young will officiate.
Dea was born the daughter of Lee Rice Sr. and Stephanie Tucker Williams May 27, 1988, in Kankakee.
She previously had worked as a CNA and currently had been employed in food service at Dunkin’ Donuts and Sodexo Food Service at Olivet Nazarene University. She was a member of God’s Lighthouse Center of Deliverance in Kankakee. DeAndrea enjoyed spending time with children and reading.
Surviving are her mother, Stephanie (Robert Jr.) Williams, of Kankakee; father, Lee Rice Sr., of Kankakee; brothers, Lee Rice Jr. and Robert (Dana Wilken) Williams Jr., all of Kankakee; sisters, Markese (Parrish) Willis, of Indiana, Joya Freeman and Shonquesa Dickens, both of Kankakee, Dianna Freeman, of Wisconsin, and Dametria Rosenthal, of Georgia; goddaughter, Ja’Niya Watts; grandparents, Betty Young, of Bourbonnais, and Rubin (Dorothy) Berry, of Kankakee; aunts, Andrea Tucker Jones, of North Carolina, Trozlynn (James) Allen, of Bourbonnais, Hattie Galliday, Cathy Galliday, Jean Key and LaToya Freeman, all of Kankakee, Pam Freeman, of Florida, and Sherry Flowers, of Wisconsin; nieces, Jayden May, Jordan May and Den’Niya Freeman-Hill; nephews, Johnathan Jones, Joshua Malone and Mekhi Austin; special cousins, Jenna King, Jhane’ King, Cornell Jones and Summer Jones; special friends, the Cottage family; along with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her maternal great-grandparents, John Henry and Reatha Young; paternal grandmother, Pearl Galliday; and paternal great-uncle and aunt, Lucious and Nancy (Nan) Nelson.
