wrestling Danbury’s Jack places 4th in Beast of the East tournament
The Danbury wrestling team competed in the top high school tournament in the country last weekend, and one of its finest added another excellent performance to his résumé.
Ryan Jack placed fourth in the 126-pound division at the Beast of the East tournament at the University of Delaware on Sunday.
After reaching the semifinals, Jack fell to Blair Academy’s (N.J.) Michael Coliaocco for a second straight Beast of the East. Jack won a pair of 3-0 decisions in the quarterfinals and the consolation semifinals. Jack fell in the bronze-medal bout to another New Jersey grappler, Robert Howard, by a narrow 6-4 decision.
The fourth-place finish is the best of any Connecticut grappler in tournament history, according to ctwrestling.com
