Clinton Apologizes to Senate Dems
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Clinton extended his campaign of contrition over the Monica Lewinsky affair today and apologized in private to Senate Democratic leaders. He summoned members of his Cabinet to the White House for a similar session.
``He shared his feelings and apologized to us personally,″ Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota told reporters after the meeting in the White House residence.
Daschle said the legislators asked Clinton whether there were new, damaging revelations yet to surface.
``His answer was that, no, there were no surprises,″ Daschle said.
