Phillies Call Up Myers, DL Person

CHICAGO (AP) _ The Philadelphia Phillies called up right-hander Brett Myers from Triple-A Scranton on Wednesday and placed Robert Person on the disabled list with an inflamed right shoulder.

Myers made his major league debut Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs. The No. 12 pick overall in the 1999 draft, Myers was 9-6 this season at Scranton with a 3.59 ERA and had won four of his last five starts.

Person was 4-5 with a 5.44 ERA in 16 starts for the Phils. He went just two innings Monday, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks in a 7-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs.
