ABBA ‘ARRIVAL’

Released: Oct. 11, 1976

Label: Polar Records

“Arrival” became the best-selling album of 1977 in the United Kingdom and was certified as gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The fourth studio album from Swedish pop-disco group ABBA, “Arrival” was released in October of 1976 and produced three big hits: “Dancing Queen,” “Money, Money, Money” and “Knowing Me, Knowing You.”

“Money, Money, Money,” an anthem of sorts, expresses a working woman’s woes and wishes for one of two things — more money or a wealthy husband. For a ’70s pop-disco tune, it sends a striking message.

A number of these songs, plus previous and future ABBA songs, have been used in the feature films “Mama Mia!” and “Mama Mia! Here We Go Again.”

KEY CUTS: “My Love, My Life,” “Fernando,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You”
