Boswell magistrate reports: March 21

The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell:

Weapon offense

Kenneth Carolus, 18, Broadway Street, Rockwood, was charged March 1 with a weapon offense. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 11:16 a.m. Feb. 11 state police found three knives and metal knuckles on Carolus near the junction of routes 219 and 30 in Jenner Township after his vehicle ran out of gas. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. April 3.

Theft

Abigail Fogle, 24, no current address, was charged March 14 with second-degree felony receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on March 10 Fogle stole $350, several cellphones and four tablets from her mother’s residence. She was arraigned March 14 before on-call District Judge Ken Johnson, of Somerset, and was sent to the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was waived Wednesday before Mankamyer. Fogle’s next day in Somerset County court is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 16.

Criminal mischief

James Tunstall, 34, 5th Street, Acosta, was charged Tuesday with criminal mischief and a summary offense. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on March 8 Tunstall smashed his ex-girlfriend’s car windshield in Boswell Borough. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. May 1.
