Klein Oak softball in reloading mode, ready to ‘start building excitement’
After being the assistant coach two years ago, Barry Wilson was tapped to take over the Klein Oak softball program in 2017-18.
Wilson had his highs and lows in year number one as the squad finished as regional quarterfinalists despite facing adversity. This past season, the Lady Panthers bowed out earlier than expected.
Nevertheless, the 25-year coach knows the type of team required to get to the state tournament.
“Couple of games didn’t go our way,” Wilson said. “We just couldn’t push it across, that kind of took the wind out of ourselves a little bit, but they kept battling and I’m proud of them for that.”
